Down the Road
Starlight finds me on a back road in July.
Wondrin' about what it was, that just about caught my eye.
I cannot stand these times, but I cannot let them go.
For what is real today, might not be, down the road.
Nothin' on the radio, I need something to clear my head.
Thought about turnin' around, but I press on, straight ahead.
The reasons why in life, I feel I need to know,
Because if I don't, I might not make it, down the road.
Just like everything else in life the signs pass me by.
Exit's not close enough to get me out of here in time.
Headlights behind me, comin' round the bend don't suit me right.
And I know, I could use a little bit of your love
To help me get through this night.
